It's been a while since I updated this little travel blog.  Essentially, we settled into out Lagos lifestyle and really haven't done too much. The weather  has turned a little cooler,  with some rain showers and a persistent gusty north wind.  This has  made getting out (walking and biking) a little less pleasant but we have kept at it.   The daytime temperatures have been consistently in the mid teens.

Some of the hills are steep. We rode up this hill once, but never again.  We bypass it with a long loop.

Even with the cooler temperatures, yesterday and the day before that, we spent part of the afternoon on the beach. Thanks to the beach orientation (south west) and the wind direction (from the North), it was easy to find comfortable spots to sit, with your back to a wall or cliff face looking out at the surf. Even though the air temperature was only about 15 degrees it was very comfortable sitting in the sun.  We took out little camp chairs, some refreshments, a small Bluetooth speaker and some reading material.

Yet another beautiful beach. This one is at the town of Selema

Lagos is a small city of about 20,000 inhabitants. Although it quite hilly, it is easy to get around walking or by bike.  Living without a car certainly helps maintain a better fitness level. We shop pretty much every day.  Walking to the grocery stores is a daily occurrence.  There are several large ones and many smaller ones, with an extensive variety of goods.

It is interesting that when we are in Fernie, which is smaller than Lagos, we usually take the car to go shopping for groceries etc.  It is partly habit but having good walking paths and warm weather makes a huge difference.  In the summer in Fernie we should really make more effort to leave the car in the driveway!

Below are a couple of shots from Lagos...

This is certainly the nicest mini-golf course that I have ever seen.

In a few days we will be packing up and heading to the eastern end of the Algarve, We are spending a week in the little village of Santa Luzia.  At the end of that week Lind's brother is joining us for couple of weeks.
